Up for sale is a used Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Firewall Starter Kit. The kit comes with a Raspberry Pi Model 3B, SD card, power supply, case, hdmi-to-vga adapter, usb-to-RJ45 adapter, and a Cat 5 RJ45 LAN cable. The accessories received in your kit may vary in color or manufacturer.
These were used for a couple semesters in college firewall course and it’s likely the included SD card will not boot the Pi when received. You will need to flash the SD card with a new OS or other firewall app such as OpenWRT to boot up. This is a standard Pi so it can be used for anything a Pi 3B can do but if you want a FW you can use the built in linux ipchains or install UFW or another app. Generally you connect the Pi’s LAN port to your upstream ISP and the USB-to-RJ45 adapter to your LAN letting the Pi Firewall control traffic. Google has lots of guides to do this as well as with other item turn it into a wireless router. This is a great way to experiment with firewalls if you’re learning cybersecurity.
